Smith and Drescher

Rep. Adam Smith Endorses a Card-Carrying Republican

People who don't ordinarily follow Newcastle, Washington politics aren't going to know this, pretty much, but Representative Adam Smith, Democrat from Washington state, actually endorsed a card-carrying Republican, John Drescher, for Newcastle City Council.  Drescher supported George W. Bush and John McCain, respectively, in two recent presidential elections (2004 & 2008).  Smith is the same rightist Democrat (the kind of Democrats also known as "Blue Dogs") who benefitted from the other curious election of 2004, though unwittingly.

Smith's voting record is like a dream to America's far right wing, shown here as follows:

Congressman Adam Smith has voted for the following (pretty much not in accordance with his district):

  • the national defense authorization act proviso that ends Habeas Corpus (judicial review for persons who are jailed), even for American citizens, though clearly unconstitutional;
  • the 2002 Iraq War resolution;
  • Gramm, Leach, Bliley Act (the law that effectively dismantled the Glass-Steagall Act);
  • Wall Street bail-outs;
  • nuclear energy deal with India (despite that this involves the energy sector, the deal undermined the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty);
  • the 2001 Patriot Act and 2011 Patriot Extension Act, acts that are overbroad and have enabled the N.S.A.'s (and other agencies) overreaching, out-of-control surveillance of law-abiding American citizens.

The 2007 Primary for City Council

Party of Commons' chairman, Mark Greene, has been active in both local and national affairs. In 2007, he ran for City Council in Newcastle, and proposed that the city try to attract sustainable energy businesses to locate inside it, among other campaign ideas. Please, see the Seattle Times article in the comments section about the primary that year. The Party of Commons does not sponsor or produce advertising. Copyright 2009 - 2010, Party of Commons TM

Caucus of Shills

The so-called Congressional black caucus is one of the biggest frauds in America, as practically all of its members, with maybe a handful of exceptions, are corporate shills that do the bidding of corporations, interventionists and internationalists.  These are the same congresspersons that are some of the biggest promoters of globalism that takes away jobs and opportunities from citizens, and dramatically drives up housing costs for ordinary citizens.  But they're not worried, because their extravagant congressional salaries and perks, along with the incumbency election racket, protects them from such economic jolts as fierce competition for jobs from non-citizens and thousand dollar-a-month rents.  If every last one of them were defeated in the November election, the Americans that this caucus identifies with would be hard put to notice the difference. Write In

Mark Greene has decided to stay in the state representative race beyond the primary, whether he makes it on the ballot in November or he stays in as a write-in. Naturally, we support Mark Greene as a write-in for state representative, position no. 2, in the primary and, if necessary, as a write-in in the general. Please, contribute to Mark's write-in State Representative campaign (Aug. 17, 2010 Primary - 41st District) by sending check or money order to P.O. Box 612, Bellevue, WA 98009. Thank you!
